SharedCare by HealthMatters of Central Oregon

HealthMatters of Central Oregon is pleased to offer affordable health care coverage for local businesses.

SharedCare by HealthMatters of Central Oregon is modeled after a nationally recognized multi-share health coverage program that has been replicated in dozens of communities designed to improve health care availability, access, coverage, reimbursement, and health status.

SharedCare is a community health improvement plan to provide affordable, comprehensive health care benefits to uninsured, lower wage employees in Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties. Effective use of health services and community resources, coordination of care, education and member responsibility are key aspects that will help ensure the success of this regional initiative.

Visit SharedCareCO.org to learn more about this exciting opportunity for small businesses in Central Oregon. We are starting enrollment on May 1st with coverage starting on June 1st.

SharedCare is a unique community health coverage program that actively coordinates community services to make health coverage affordable. Costs for the program are shared by you the employer, the employee and the community. By keeping the costs within our community and utilizing our local network of providers, SharedCare is able to offer affordable health coverage to small businesses.

SharedCare offers two coverage options:

  • Health Improvement Option ($98): $49/month for employee and employer
  • Standard Option ($140): $70/month for employee and employer

Business Eligibility:

  • Business location within Crook, Deschutes or Jefferson County
  • Employ 1 to 50 employees
  • Business does not offer health coverage to all or some of its employees
  • Median wage of all eligible employees is $16/hour or less

Employee Eligibility:

  • Uninsured (only employees with no health coverage qualify)
  • Must have been employed by current employer for at least 13 weeks and have worked at least 200 hours (an average of 15.4 hours per week)

As a community-based health coverage model, SharedCare by HealthMatters of Central Oregon would not be possible without the dedicated efforts of community volunteers, board members and staff. Our sincere appreciation for the time and efforts of those who have been working diligently behind the scenes to bring this program to life for the Central Oregon community.
