Meeting with Honorable Congressman Walden

In October, our executive director had the priviledge of meeting with the Honorable Congressman Walden at his office in Washington D.C., at that meeting he graciously accepted an invitation to meet our board of directors and further discuss the health issues facing Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties.

On November 26, 2007, HealthMatters (formerly Central Oregon Health Collaborative) board of directors and the Honorable Congressman Walden had an excellent meeting regarding the complex health issues facing the citizens of Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson Counties.  We appreciate Congressman Walden’s time, interest and open dialgoue regarding this issue that affects our region.  It is important to have open dialogue tied to action steps to improve health outcomes and decrease health disparities of all Central Oregonians.
