HealthMatters Board Working on Community Participation

HealthMatters of Central Oregon Board of Directors is currently pursuing opportunities to increase community participation in our ongoing dialogue and action plan.  With additional active regional stakeholders through our community partnership strategy, we can develop, at the local level, innovative strategies to improve our communities’ health.  Please review the following information, if you are interested in participating in HealthMatters on the Business Advisory Council, Provider Advisory Council, or if you wish to be a volunteer for additional programs, please email executive director Alisha Hopper.

Community Partnership Strategy
Develop strong partnerships within the Central Oregon Community for improved health outcomes by launching a Business Advisory Council and Provider Advisory Council by late Spring 2008.

  1. Include diverse stakeholders in program at various levels (i.e. health departments (tri-counties), chambers, businesses – all sectors, public officials, partnerships/resources, volunteers, faith-based organizations, school based organizations, etc).
  2. Develop Business Advisory Council (BAC); solid business input for initiative development and program success.
  3. Develop Provider Advisory Council (PAC); solid provider (medical) input for initiative development and program success.
  4. Increase community involvement through engagement of diverse partners and members in Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson county.
