Christine Winters, MPH
Christine Winters is the former Executive Director of Volunteers in Medicine, a non-profit clinic serving the uninsured in Deschutes County, Oregon. In 2001, she began working with community leaders to secure funding for and to build the Clinic, which opened in March 2004. As part of this effort, Christine has helped to establish over 50 partnerships with organizations and businesses to enable the delivery of comprehensive health care services. The Clinic now completes 7,000 visits each year. She was a founder of HealthMatters of Central Oregon, has served on various State task forces addressing health care reform and currently serves on the Bend 2030 Board of Directors.
Christine has a Master of Public Health degree with a Social & Behavioral Sciences emphasis, from the University of Washington. Prior to moving to Bend, she worked for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
